Bio

For as long as she can remember, Kate has loved research: book reports, term papers, top-10 lists. Fortunately, she was able to harness this skill into a career as an attorney where, to her delight, she could get paid to research.

 

In more recent years, Kate has channeled her efforts into researching little-known local history stories from across the United States for nonfiction children's picture books. She is also the steward of StoryWalk® Houston, an early literacy program that promotes reading engagement, physical activity and family time together outdoors.
 

Kate is a frequent speaker on local history and was a serial chair of the book fair at her kids' school.
